Build Your Career in Financial Analysis

We're looking for people who care about making complex financial data accessible. Our team spends time researching Australian companies and creating reports that help people make informed decisions. It's detailed work, and honestly, it requires patience.

Current Opportunities

We're expanding our research team throughout 2025. These roles start between July and October, which gives you time to wrap up current commitments.

Financial Data Analyst

Full-time Neutral Bay

You'll dig into annual reports, quarterly statements, and market filings. The goal is to pull out meaningful patterns that help people compare companies fairly. We need someone who spots inconsistencies and asks good questions.

Research Coordinator

Full-time Hybrid

This role keeps our research pipeline moving. You'll coordinate data collection schedules, track report progress, and make sure our team has what they need. Organisation matters more than finance background here.

Express Interest

Content Specialist

Full-time Neutral Bay

Our research gets technical fast. We need someone who can translate financial metrics into clear language without dumbing things down. You'll work with analysts to shape reports that actually make sense to readers.

Express Interest

Junior Market Researcher

Full-time Entry Level

Good starting position if you've studied finance or accounting but don't have years of experience yet. You'll support senior analysts with data gathering and preliminary analysis work. We'll train you on our methodology.

Express Interest

Quality Assurance Analyst

Full-time Neutral Bay

Someone needs to catch mistakes before reports go out. This role reviews calculations, cross-checks sources, and verifies our data matches original filings. Detail-oriented doesn't begin to cover it.

Express Interest

Database Administrator

Full-time Hybrid

We maintain a pretty large database of financial metrics across hundreds of companies. You'd manage data structures, ensure accuracy in our systems, and work with researchers to improve how we store and retrieve information.

What Working Here Actually Looks Like

Our office in Neutral Bay isn't fancy, but it's functional. Most people arrive around nine, leave by six. We don't do the startup thing with ping pong tables and free beer.

What we do offer is focused work time. Financial analysis requires concentration, so we've set things up to minimize interruptions. Meetings are scheduled in blocks, and we protect research time pretty seriously.

The work can get repetitive sometimes. But if you're someone who finds satisfaction in getting details right and building expertise over time, you'll probably fit in well here.

  • Four weeks annual leave plus public holidays
  • Superannuation contributions above minimum requirements
  • Flexible working arrangements after probation period
  • Professional development budget for relevant courses
  • Health insurance subsidies
  • Study leave for professional qualifications

Hear From The Team

A couple of our researchers shared what drew them to this work. Their experiences are pretty typical of what you'd find here.

Angus Whitfield, Senior Financial Analyst at meraviontix

Angus Whitfield

Senior Financial Analyst

I joined meraviontix in 2022 after working at a Big Four firm. The pace here suits me better. I spend my time actually analysing companies rather than juggling client demands and billable hours. The research can get quite deep when you're comparing similar businesses across different sectors.

Stellan Bergqvist, Research Coordinator at meraviontix

Stellan Bergqvist

Research Coordinator

Started as a junior researcher three years back. What surprised me was how much you learn about different industries. One week you're studying mining operations, next week it's retail supply chains. The variety keeps things interesting even though the analytical process stays consistent.

How Our Hiring Process Works

We try to keep this straightforward. The whole process typically takes four to six weeks from initial application to final decision.

1

Application Review

Submit your CV and a brief cover letter explaining why the role interests you. We read everything that comes in. Takes us about ten days to review applications and reach out to candidates we want to speak with.

2

Initial Phone Conversation

A thirty minute call with our hiring coordinator. This is mostly about logistics and making sure the role aligns with what you're looking for. We'll answer questions about day-to-day responsibilities and team structure.

3

Technical Assessment

For analyst roles, we send a sample company report and ask you to review it for accuracy. Takes about two hours. We're looking at how you approach financial data and whether you catch discrepancies.

4

Team Interview

Come meet the people you'd work with. Usually two or three team members for about an hour. We'll discuss your assessment work and ask about your experience with financial analysis. You'll get a proper tour of the office too.

5

Decision and Offer

We make decisions within a week of final interviews. If we'd like to move forward, we'll call with an offer and follow up with written terms. Then it's just working out your start date based on your current commitments.
